Fourth of July

I'm going to try to get the blog caught up in the next few days. We've been super busy this summer. So I'll go back a few weeks. We had a great Fourth of July. E's mom was visiting, so the boys had lots of fun Grandma time. In the afternoon we went to a parade in a nearby village. The boys and Grandma waiting for the parade to start.

Watching the parade. O is covering his ears because the sirens were so loud. He also covered his ears later during the fireworks.

Picnicing at Trophy Point before the fireworks.

Catching fireflies. They loved this! There are only a few days during the summer they're up late enough for this.

A beautiful night!

Berry Pickin'

Last night after it cooled down a bit here E and I took the boys on a wild berry foraging expedition. I had noticed wild raspberries growing in several places on post, so we decided to head out and see what we could find.

Success! We ended up filling this basket up with raspberries and they're yummy. We found a ton of bushes, although most of them aren't quite ripe, so we may head out again next week. And this time we will dress more appropriately. (No shorts and flipflops!)

Happy Fourth!

Happy 4th of July. Thank you to all who have sacrificed to give us the freedom we enjoy in our great country. God bless America!
