3rd Annual Valentine's Day Treasure Hunt

I LOVE celebrating Valentine's Day. For the past three years I have made a treasure hunt with clues for the boys to follow to their Valentine treasure. I thought that I'd made the clues a little more difficult this year, but they were still completely done in about five minutes.

The first clue.
This is pretty much the only other picture that I was able to get with them standing still.

The treasure (lollipops and Phineas and Ferb Across the Second Dimension) were found in the "new" outside fridge, which was E's birthday gift to further his beer brewing skills.

After the treasure hunt we watched the movie and ate our heart-shaped pizzas. The boys assured me that this was the best day ever!

ADOPTION UPDATE: We are done with our home study! We had our last 2 meetings with our case worker this week and they went really well. Now it's time to start working on our dossier!

Boston

Sorry to anyone thinking this is a Super Bowl post. It's not. It is our over-a-month-ago Boston trip. E was presenting at a math conference there last month, so the boys and I decided to come along and see some of Boston while he was at the conference. It was pretty cold, so we spent most of our time indoors at the Children's Museum and the aquarium. We hope to go back sometime when it's warmer.

The Boston Children's Museum was awesome! We spent all day there and the boys were never bored. Here is S inside this 3-floor climbing structure.
Listening to books in the Ready for Kindergarten exhibit.

At the "Barber Shop"

We also enjoyed the aquarium, expecially the penguins.

Outside to see the sea lions.

Some guy with a cigar statue. The boys were, of course, running off before I could read who this guy is.

Pinewood Derby

Last weekend, S participated in his first Pinewood Derby with Scouts. (And if you have no idea what that is like I did: the scout builds his own car out of pinewood and then there's a race.) This is an extremely competitive sport with weigh-ins for the car and such. S's car did very well, placing 3rd overall. He was super excited!

Waiting for his first race to start.
His car (actually a truck) is the one on the far right.

Watching the races with his den.

So much anticipation!!!!

Being awarded third place. He received a camping cook set as a prize and has been carrying it around ever since!

Adoption Update: We had our second meeting today with our adoption specialist and it went very well. We only have few more paperwork items to turn in. In the next two weeks we will have one more meeting at her office and she will visit our house and meet the boys and then we will be done with the Home Study! Yay!!!!
