The Biggest Day EVER

Today is S's 5th birthday, his first day of kindergarten, and his first day to ride the bus! I think it is almost too much for him, and it's definitely too much for his mama. Tears were shed as the bus pulled away (by me), but I know he is going to have a blast this year because that's the kind of kid he is. It is hard to believe that S is 5 now. It seems like we were just bringing him home from the hospital. He is growing into such a sweet, smart, entertaining, imaginative boy. I can't wait to see what sort of person he will continue to grow into. A gentle wake-up by Daddy.
Walking to the bus stop.

Two sweet boys, stopping for 2 seconds for a pic.

Here's the bus!

And there he goes. . .Thankfully today is his birthday, so I can take snacks up to the school for his class. This means in about an hour I will be going to his class and will able to see that he made it to school safely! (Huge sigh of relief.)

Fun in the Sun

Saturday we celebrated S's birthday with a space-themed water party. He won't turn five until this week but we wanted to have a party before school started. You will notice that the quality of the photos is much better than usual, that's because we have misplaced our camera and friends of ours took all the pictures with their camera. (Thanks G Family!!!!!)
Opening gifts.

Saying cheese!

E made a stand-up astronaut that all of the kids (and some adults) were able to have their pics taken in.

The spaceship cake.

Birthday boy!

We had water balloons, a slip-n-slide, a little pool, and the water table set up. I think all of the kids had a great time, especially with the water balloons.

Another Boat Ride and a Really Funny Video

Saturday we took a little boat ride over to Constitution Island, a historic site, and walked around looking at the gardens and seeing the Army mules.

Once again, I tried to take pic of both boys in front of flowers and this is what I ended up with.

O was being so sweet helping one of the gardeners pull weeds and put them in the baskets.

And the video which I will entitle, "Daisy and Tigger Making Friends."
And just in case anyone is worried, both of them are fine. They both settled down for naps immediately after their little romp.
