Shhh! Batman's sleeping!

I just wanted to share something funny that happened yesterday. S found his Batman costume (which I still hadn't put in the attic) and put it on yesterday afternoon. He took it off eventually and we put him to bed. Apparently sometime after E and I went downstairs he snuck into our room and put it back on and this is what we found when we went in to check on him:

Silly, silly boy! He didn't even wake up when we took it off of him. I sometimes wish I could sleep that soundly.

The New Year

I usually tend to feel a little sad after Christmas, but the new year is one of my favorite times. I love making resolutions and lists of things I want to accomplish. I try to improve all different aspects of my life from my relationships to my health. Some of my resolutions for this year include praying for my family more and using reusable bags every time I go shopping. Yesterday I went to Target but forgot to bring a bag in with me, but luckily I found some for 48 cents on clearance. Yay! (On a side note, if anyone else has someone in their family that loves Batman as much as S. there are quite a few Batman items in the $1.00 section.)

The boys are growing so fast and I constantly hope and pray that we are teaching them everything they need to know to grow into wonderful, happy God-loving men. One of the things we are going to start doing is paying S a tiny allowance for doing some small chores. I ordered S and O some very cute piggy banks so that he will have somewhere to put his money. He is very excited about it and I think it will be fun for him. We are also putting the boys in swimming lessons in a couple of weeks. I think this will also be a ton of fun for them. (And maybe it will tire them out a little bit!)

I am also doing my usual reorganizing of any spots in the house that are out of control and trying to get caught up on scrapbooking. And sadly, I have not had a drop of coffee since the drive home after Christmas! (Although I drink 3-4 cups of tea every day. I still have to have a little something to keep up with the boys!) I hope everyone is having a great beginning to their year!

Christmas, Part3

We left for Kansas to celebrate Christmas with Eric's family on the 22nd. We were able to see both of Eric's brothers and their families, along with his parents.
All of the grandkids.
The whole family posed for a group shot.

Daddy with his boys and the newest grand-baby, Jacie.

We were all so happy to see a little bit of snow while we were in Kansas.

Christmas, Part 2

After S's school Christmas program, we left for Arkansas to celebrate Christmas with my family. We drove it all in one day so that we would have more time to see everyone.

S and Emma had a great time together.

All the little ones had fun decorating a gingerbread Ashley made for them. (And yes, that is Bat Daddy helping them.)

Christmas, Part 1

Happy New Year Everyone! We hope you all have a happy and blessed 2009. E and I were both asleep by 11:00 on New Year's Eve. I'm still recovering from Monday's surgery and we're both still tired from our Christmas trip. We had a wonderful time, but it's always nice to come home.
